Weekend Birthday Bash and Breakfast

A quick update on the weekend events thus far... On Saturday (prior to my photo extravaganza) I went up to Suji to meet some friends for a birthday celebration. I've figured out the bus system much better now, so I can get there in about 20 minutes instead of an hour (much better!).

I met everyone over at B's apartment in Suji. A couple of girls I'd never met were there, it was good to meet a couple of new people! We shared a bottle of very nice shiraz (Foundstone - will have to look for it soon!) and said hello to her family online from Nfld., then visited while she got caught up with her baby niece (so cute!). We went out to shabu-shabu for dinner (that's where you have the boiling soup pot in the centre of the table and you fondue-up some meat and veggies - yum! yum!), and then we all headed over to the theatre to watch Shutter Island. Good movie, great ending, I think most of us liked it. The rest of the night I worked on my paper, can't wiat for the term to end!

On Sunday morning I worked on my paper and slideshow that was due for Monday, and then in the early afternoon we all met up again and went out for brunch at Butterfinger Pancakes... it was Easter so the management must have thought it a good reason to torture the staff... you can see them in the photos below - enjoy!

I had to wait for an hour before getting in... thought about climbing a tree like this young fella, but I didn't have a helmet :(
Poor bunnies...
Erin & Val eating breakfast... those milkshakes were just under $10 each!
Myyyy breakfast... yum!yum! and vanilla butter: o.m.g. Low-low prices of $25(!!) for THIS plate of food and the cafe mocha (which HAD a mountain of whipped cream, but I got distracted and took care of it all before I remembered the camera.

Haha, yep, that's right... mocha complete with highjacked bible verse!

Since I know you were dying to know... and did you see the part about only healthy things happen at Butterfingers??

I hope that she enjoyed her birthday, as low key as it might have been, because I sure did!! Now off to Seo-Hyun!

  1. I had a wonderful birthday!!! Thanks for reminding me which movie we saw. My next b-day is in a little over 3 weeks. Wish you were here to celebrate with me again. Or, I wish I was with you on this amazing adventure!
